We had a smooth first night of our New Orleans adventure. Said good-bye to Julia, Max, and Mom at 1228 Rose...I mentioned to Mom that when we first moved into 1228 Rose in 1987 she and Dad had two teenagers. Now mere weeks away from their departure from said address they once again have two teenagers (Julia and Max for the week) around the same age Amy and I were 28 years ago! Their time at 1228 Rose nicely bookended by adolescents!
Sue and I are flying to New Orleans as I'm typing this. I have the screen on this laptop dimmed to a very low level because it feels like people behind me can read everything I'm typing. This is a very small plane...no propellers or anything like that, but small...I can look out the window of both sides of the plane quite easily. We'll be taking a $36 cab ride from Louis Armstrong Airport to our B&B, "La Belle Esplanade" where we'll meet co-owner Matthew for early check-in. Looking forward to crawfish, gumbo, oysters, muffalettas, po-boys....maybe not all at once, though. I'm uncertain how to pronounce "New Orleans". Sue and I will need to decide soon - is it "New Orlins" or "New Orleens" or "New Orlee-ins"? Friday morning we have a food tour booked...you should anticipate foodie pics! Kyle
